Portuguese craftsmanship and contemporary rug design
Santos Monteiro is a Portuguese rug manufacturer combining traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design, natural materials and an extensive range of textures and colours.
At KOYO Interior in Mallorca, we work with Santos Monteiro for individual rug selections as well as complete furnishing and interior design projects. From our showroom in Campos, we advise our clients on suitable materials, colours, dimensions and shapes according to the architecture, furniture and atmosphere of their property.
Bespoke rugs designed for the individual space
One of the particular strengths of Santos Monteiro is the possibility to create rugs according to the requirements of an individual interior.
Rather than selecting only from predefined standard dimensions, rugs can be adapted in size, shape, colour and material. This allows them to respond precisely to the proportions of a living room, dining area, bedroom or other architectural space.
At KOYO Interior, we consider the complete furniture arrangement when defining the appropriate rug dimensions. The relationship between a rug and the sofa, armchairs, coffee tables or dining furniture is particularly important for creating balanced proportions within a room.
For larger villas and fincas in Mallorca, bespoke dimensions can also provide solutions for spaces where conventional standard-size rugs would simply be too small or incorrectly proportioned.
Natural materials, texture and colour
Material and texture have a significant influence on how a rug changes the character of an interior. Santos Monteiro works with different fibres, structures and manufacturing techniques to create surfaces ranging from subtle and understated to more expressive and tactile.
For us at KOYO Interior, a rug is therefore much more than a decorative accessory. It can visually connect individual pieces of furniture, define an area within an open-plan space and introduce softness, texture and colour into an interior.
This is particularly effective in Mallorca properties where stone floors, natural wood and large open spaces are common. A carefully selected rug can introduce warmth and acoustic comfort while maintaining the architectural character of the property.
Rugs as part of the complete interior concept
We usually select rugs in direct relationship with the furniture rather than treating them as an isolated decorative element.
Sofa dimensions, furniture layout, colours, fabrics, flooring and lighting all influence the choice of a suitable rug. Depending on the project, a subtle neutral rug can provide a calm foundation for the furniture, while a stronger texture, colour or pattern can become a deliberate element of the overall design.
Our manufacturer-independent approach also allows us to combine Santos Monteiro rugs with sofas, armchairs, dining furniture, lighting and accessories from different international brands.
This creates individual interiors based on the property and the way our clients live rather than reproducing a complete setting from a single manufacturer.
Bespoke Santos Monteiro rugs for your Mallorca home
Looking for a Santos Monteiro rug in Mallorca? KOYO Interior can help you select and order a rug according to the proportions, furniture and character of your interior.
Rather than choosing a rug only by colour, we consider its relationship with the complete room. Sofa dimensions, dining tables, furniture placement, flooring and the architecture itself all influence the appropriate size, shape, material and texture.
This is particularly relevant for larger living and dining areas where standard rug dimensions often do not create the right proportions.
Depending on the selected design and available options, we can advise on individual dimensions, materials, colours and finishes and integrate the rug into an existing interior or a complete furnishing concept.
Santos Monteiro rugs can be ordered through KOYO Interior for projects in Mallorca. We coordinate the selection and ordering as part of our personal furnishing and interior design service.
